As a lifelong Wisconsinite and first generation student, I am excited to be a part of the MS Human Ecology program. I started my higher education journey at Madison Area Technical College, transferring to UW–Madison in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. After obtaining my BA in anthropology and geography with a certificate in folklore from UW–Madison, I joined Schools of Hope, an AmeriCorps program which provides literacy tutoring to elementary school students in the Madison area.

I am interested in social change in education-based spaces, primarily in public school and public library settings. My recent research has dived into Queer Literacies and censorship of LGBTQ+ content in libraries. You can find my first zine on this topic at apocalypsezines.wordpress.com.
