Having worked more than 35 years in the communications profession, I have spent my career in food marketing and consumer brand building for major corporations and public relations and advertising agencies. My experience covers the many dimensions of the worldwide corporate relations function, from issues and crisis management and marketing communications to media relations, public affairs and government relations. As a 30-year veteran of McDonald’s Corporation, I served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer responsible for global internal and external communications management, stakeholder engagement, policy development and philanthropy. Supporting the work of Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities was and continues to be central to my work and focus.
Why do you care about Human Ecology?
In this complex and changing world, the emphasis on a human-centric approach to innovation and problem solving has never been more important. Addressing quality-of-life issues through research, education and outreach is at the core of Human Ecology, and a mission I fully support. It will take all of us working together to address the big issues of today and tomorrow, in a collaborative spirit that human ecologists are leading.
