Story by Sofia More x’26, UW–Madison student studying Community & Nonprofit Leadership.
During Day of the Badger, more than 160 people gave to the School of Human Ecology to make a difference for today’s students. Thanks to the generous alumni, parents, students, staff, faculty and friends who made a gift, more than $60,000 will support students’ hands-on learning opportunities, including paid internships.
A heartfelt thank you to Peter Gaslow — a proud parent of two Human Ecology students — for making a challenge gift of $20,000 that was unlocked when 125 gifts were made. This wouldn’t be possible without the collective participation of everyone who gave to Human Ecology during Day of the Badger.
The School of Human Ecology (SoHE) provides opportunities that are appreciated by many. Here are a few notes we received from donors during Day of the Badger:
- “We have been thrilled with the opportunities [our daughter] has been able to take advantage of as a student in SoHE. We are very excited about her upcoming graduation and the summer internship she has lined up which will hopefully lead to a successful and rewarding career for her.” (Parent)
- “It is a great time to be a human ecologist and proud Badger Alum.” (Consumer Science alum ’96)
- “I’m happy to support the amazing programs in SoHE, and it will be great to unlock that generous $20,000 donation.” (Parent)
Thank you for showing your Human Ecology pride and making Day of the Badger 2024 a success!
