Kay Vaughan

“I wanted to support the building. I’ve been a loyal supporter of the School since 1939 when I graduated,” said Kay Vaughan (BS 1939 Home Economics), who designated a deferred gift to the School of Human Ecology. “We decided that whatever we could do, we should do early on, to give other people the idea that they could do this too,” she said. Kay is one of several alumni who made gifts to the Human Ecology building campaign because they saw the need for new facilities and hoped their gift would be a catalyst for others – and indeed, it was. Previously, Kay endowed the Vaughan Bascom Professorship in Women and Philanthropy, and her philanthropic vision has been an inspiration and encouragement to many.
