Funding Opportunities for the week of October 30 – November 5, 2020

[SoHE internal] Center for Child and Family Well-Being (CCFW) / Child Development Lab (CDL) / Preschool to Five (P25) – This year’s CCFW/CDL/P25 Call for Research Proposals invites applications from affiliates who have UW-Madison Principal Investigator (PI) status and from other investigators (e.g., Extension educators, faculty associates) applying in partnership with a PI. Project budgets may be up to $25,000, with additional funding available to support graduate and undergraduates on projects engaging in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) scholarship.

[final reminder!] Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment – This competitive grant program at UW-Madison fosters public engagement and the advancement of the Wisconsin Idea. Proposals are encouraged for new outreach and public engagement activities that partner with community and off-campus organizations to extend and apply our research, education and practice-based knowledge to help solve problems or take advantage of opportunities. Faculty, staff and students are eligible to apply.
Project Grants are for projects 1-3 years long, up to $120K.
Seed Grants are for projects 1 year or less, up to $4,000.
Due November 9: Project Grant Pre-proposals and SEED grant applications.
If you plan to apply, please notify Sarah Marcotte by October 30, to ensure timely completion of Chair and Dean designee approvals.

UW Institute of Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) Pilot Program – The ICTR Pilot Program has released several RFAs inviting community-partnered research proposals in the following areas:
Clinical and Community Outcomes Research (CCOR) – $75,000 / 12 mos
Collaborative Health Equity Research (CHER) – $50,000 / 12 mos
Stakeholder & Patient Engaged Research (SPER) – $100,000 / 12 mos
Due November 20: Letter of Intent (LOI)
Due December 21: Full Application

[for graduate students] The Horowitz Foundation for Social PolicyThe foundation welcomes applications for research. Grants of $7,500 will be awarded to individuals at the dissertation level in support of research projects that address contemporary issues in the social sciences. The foundation supports projects with a social policy application on either a global or local level.

Terra Foundation for American Art – Letters of Inquiry (LOI) are invited for the foundation’s Academic Workshop and Symposium Grant program. Awards up to $25,000 support projects involving in-person exchanges such as workshops, symposia, and colloquia that advance scholarship in the field of American art (circa 1500–1980) that take place in Chicago or outside the U.S.; or take place in the U.S. with at least one third of participants coming from outside the U.S.

Morgridge Center for Public Service – This funding opportunity advances the high impact practice of community-based research at the UW-Madison. Awards are up to $5,000. Faculty, staff members, and graduate students are eligible to apply with projects to design and implement a new community-based research (CBR) project, add a CBR component to an existing project, or continue an ongoing CBR project toward a new phase or by adding a new element.
