SoHE researchers who are searching for funding opportunities, are starting to work on a grant proposal, or need assistance with managing an existing grant award can now find information, resources, templates, and guidance on the SoHE Research Support webpages. Check out the new pages to Search Funding Opportunities including internal SoHE funding calls; to find resources on Budget and Proposal Development, and Award Management; and to locate commonly-referenced research Policies and Compliance.

Funding Opportunities
UW Office of the Provost: Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Pre-Proposals are due November 11, 2019. SoHE faculty planning to submit a pre-proposal are asked to notify Sarah Marcotte, SoHE pre-award research administrator, by November 1, 2019, for planning purposes. Sarah can also pre-review the budget and provide non-technical/compliance review of the pre-proposal.
UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR): See the announcement from ICTR with opportunities to apply to their Pilot Awards Program.
The Retirement Research Foundation: The RRF invites brief Letters of Inquiry (LOI) that align with their strategic priority areas, including Caregiving, Housing, Economic Security in Later Life, and Social and Intergenerational Connectedness. LOIs are due December 1, 2019. See the RRF announcement or refer to their website for information about the LOI, including geographic limitations for certain priority areas. Russell Sage Foundation (RSF) Pipeline Grants: The Russell Sage Foundation (RSF) has launched its Pipeline Grants Competition, in partnership with the Economic Mobility and Opportunity program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This program seeks to advance innovative research on economic mobility and access to opportunity in the United States. This program is particularly interested in research focused on diagnosing and addressing structural barriers to economic mobility in this country. This initiative is designed to support early- and mid-career tenure-track scholars, and to promote diversity by prioritizing applications from scholars who are underrepresented in the social sciences. This includes racial, ethnic, gender, disciplinary, institutional, and geographic diversity. Proposals are due December 3, 2019. Training and Educational Opportunities
UW: The following is reposted from the Research at UW newsletter: While billed as an event for graduate students, the Lunch and Learn: Intellectual Property and Invention Disclosure for Graduate Students event on November 7, 2019 is a great learning opportunity for anyone involved in research on campus. Join intellectual property experts and early-career inventors for an introduction to IP and invention disclosure. The event runs 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the H.F. DeLuca Forum in the Discovery Building. For information and to register.
UW: The Researcher Regulatory Fair will be held Tuesday October 29, 2019 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Union South’s Varsity Hall. This event gives faculty, staff, trainees, students and administrators the opportunity to meet with and ask questions of campus regulatory experts from offices such as the IRB, Export Control, Research and Sponsored Programs, Conflict of Interest, and a host of other research-related offices and areas.
