Philanthropy Lab Class Awards Three Nonprofit Organizations

Philanthropy Lab awards 2017 SoHE’s Philanthropy Lab class distribution of $50,000 to three nonprofit organizations was featured in UW News and the Wisconsin State Journal. The students awarded $10,000 to Horizon High School, $15,000 to Malawi Children’s Village, and $25,000 to Maydm. The fairly new and unique class teaches the art of philanthropic giving and will be offered again Fall 2018.

Marianne Fairbanks’s solar cells featured on Wisconsin Life radio, Jan 4

Marianne Fairbanks.SoHE assistant professor Marianne Fairbank‘s Wisconsin Life story on fabric solar cells will air on Wisconsin Public Television’s main channel Thursday, January 4 at 7pm statewide (except Milwaukee) and will repeat at 5:30pm the following Sunday, January 7. In Milwaukee, it will air Thursday, January 4 at 7:30pm with a repeat Sunday, January 7 at 6:30pm. The story and article are already online and can be found here.
