I am a graduate student in Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison where I study the intersections of education, poverty, families, and mental health. With a background in curriculum and instruction and mass communication, my work centers on understanding how social and economic contexts shape learning, well-being, and family systems.
Before joining UW–Madison, I worked as a teacher and head teacher in Malawi, where I led curriculum design, teacher training, and community-based education initiatives. I am the founder and director of the Reading and Writing Clinic Malawi, which supports marginalized children through inclusive education programs, and the co-founder of the Higher Education Group, which mentors Malawian youth pursuing graduate studies abroad.
Recognized as an AAUW Fellow, I am passionate about using education as a tool to strengthen families, reduce poverty, and promote mental health and social well-being.
