I am currently a PhD student in the Human Development & Family Studies program. Prior to this, I earned a master’s degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in engineering. My transition from engineering to psychology stemmed from a natural curiosity about human nature. As I became more engaged in research, I realized that I wanted to focus on supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds. I am currently advised by Dr. Alvin Thomas and use public databases to explore how neighborhood disadvantage affects children’s developmental outcomes, particularly in the context of father absence.
