As a first-generation college student, I thought the purpose of college was to earn a degree so that my only career option was not to go work in a manufacturing factory. After graduating with multiple degrees, making a more than generous salary, and working for a prestigious international technology company, I found myself professionally unfulfilled. After some soul searching, I realized the purpose of college is to enable you to pursue a path, career, and life with purpose and meaning.
As the assistant dean of undergraduate academic affairs for School of Human Ecology students, it is my pleasure and purpose to assist, guide, and motivate students to realize their purpose.
