I am a first-year PhD student in Consumer Behavior & Family Economics. I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Gambia and a master’s degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Upon completion, I worked as an accountant and auditor in the public sector, where I witnessed how financial management can either empower or limit women’s and young people’s access to finance. However, these experiences gave me insight into how financial policies and access to resources would help shape people’s lives. This insight motivates my master’s research in sustainable finance and continues to inform my research focus on household financing, sustainable consumption, and how digital financial tools influence consumer decision-making. I hope my work can help create solutions that promote financial inclusion, sustainability, and consumer protection policies.
