Carolyn is the collections manager for Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection, and for the Center for Design and Material Culture.
She earned her BA from Indiana University-Bloomington and her master’s degree in Design Studies with concentrations in textile history, material culture studies, and museum studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Some of Carolyn’s research interests include Latin American textiles, hand-manufactured textile techniques and embellishments, museum anthropology, and textile conservation.
As weaver, dyer, and seamstress, Carolyn combines her academic and museum interests in historical textiles with her love of hands on fiber arts practices.
