My undergraduate and master’s experiences strengthened my desire to study how contextual factors influence the well-being of children and families. Specifically, I am interested in exploring the effects of early adversity and trauma on the development of children, such as resilience, and investigating how families can promote resilience in their children. In the future, I would like to delve deeper into the associations among adversity, family dynamics, and the psychological, neurobiological, and socio-emotional development of children.
I earned my BA in psychology and sociology from Case Western Reserve University and my MA in developmental psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. As a research assistant, I acquired valuable experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods through involvement in cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, while also developing strong problem-solving and communication skills in interactions with children and caregivers.
