I am a doctorate student in the Consumer Behavior & Family Economics program. Prior to joining UW–Madison, I worked at the National Cancer Center in South Korea and also with various nonprofit organizations on food system transition and rural regeneration. Through my academic and professional journey, I have explored the complex intersections of food, diet, health, and the environment, which has reinforced my desire to facilitate the transition to equitable food access and sustainable food consumption through my research.
I believe that every process of food production and consumption reflects how we as human beings relate to nature, thereby having substantial implications for the environment and sustainability. From this perspective, I aim to incorporate sustainability considerations into the discourse on food insecurity and health equity in my research.
