Jaclyn "Jack" ManesDean's Advisory Board Membershe/her/hers

With a degree in Textile & Apparel Design from UW–Madison and FIT, I launched my handbag company, ‘Jack Germain,’ which I owned and operated for seven years. Following that, I transitioned to a role as a buyer and briefly explored the beauty industry before settling into my current career as an Interior Designer.

Why do you care about Human Ecology?

The foundation of Human Ecology teaches us to connect with one another, build relationships, and create positive change in the world. This multidisciplinary school engages students and inspires them to become leaders in their industries and communities. Ultimately, I find great encouragement in the realization that we are truly more alike than we are different.

What excites you about your role as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board?

One of the main reasons I joined the board was to better support the students of Human Ecology in translating their skills into the workforce. I also aim to identify any underdeveloped areas within the program that could benefit our students in the long run.
