As a first-generation born Filipino-American, I’m interested in the way my Filipino cultural values impact my journey on American soil, specifically through the indigenous Filipino value of Kapwa. This word describes the interconnection of people and place, guiding me as I define the physical experience through my art practice at the School of Human Ecology, a place similarly focused on human ecology.
