I am a PhD student and SoHE 1903 Graduate Research Scholar at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I hold a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where I served as a researcher with the RIPPLE Lab, focusing on the well-being of displaced families. My current research investigates how socio-psychological interventions — centered on hope, agency, and spiritual connectedness — can mitigate the impacts of poverty and promote human flourishing.
Drawing on analytical techniques from psychology, applied economics, and education policy, I collaborate with communities to develop culturally informed, evidence-based solutions for families in low- and middle-income countries. Beyond my academic work, I am the co-founder for research & programs at Ustawi Global, leading initiatives to enhance collective well-being in East Africa. Driven by my lived experience growing up in Kenya, I am committed to advancing global equity and building resilient family systems.
