Portia Robertson MigasDean's Advisory Board Vice Chairshe/her/hers

As an executive leader and award-winning journalist, my experience includes developing content and strategic communication strategies to reach audiences wherever they congregate. My career in journalism includes more than two decades at ABC News and seven years at NPR. Most recently, I advise clients on organizational messaging and brand positioning, and establish effective systems and workflows for the tactical implementation of marketing and communications strategies. Much of my volunteer engagement for the last few decades included working to build connections between and within communities.

Why do you care about Human Ecology?

I am tremendously interested in ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential, and I have a particular interest in lifting the most vulnerable in our society. The School of Human Ecology is at the forefront of developing innovative frameworks for improving the lives of individuals, families and communities.
