Congratulations Dr. J. Michael Collins, Fetzer Family Chair in Consumer and Personal Finance and Associate Professor in Consumer Science for receiving the H.I. Romnes Faculty Fellowships Award. Dr. Collins studies on consumer behavior insights focus primarily on the role of information in consumer decision making, especially for low-income and vulnerable households and serves UW Cooperative Extension as a state specialist in family economics and household finance.
Professor Collins has developed a national reputation in the field of financial coaching. His articles and presentations are often cited to inform and shape new programs in this emerging area of practice and research.
The award, funded by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) , recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments and provides flexible research funding. This award is intended to recognize and support faculty up to SIX years past their first promotion to a tenured position, and cannot be awarded more than one time to any faculty member and is considered a major campus honor.
