UW Office of the Provost: Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Pre-Proposals are due November 11, 2019. SoHE faculty planning to submit a pre-proposal are asked to notify Sarah Marcotte, SoHE pre-award research administrator, by November 1, 2019, for planning purposes. Sarah can also pre-review the budget and provide non-technical/compliance review of the pre-proposal.
Russell Sage Foundation (RSF) Pipeline Grants: The Russell Sage Foundation (RSF) has launched its Pipeline Grants Competition, in partnership with the Economic Mobility and Opportunity program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). This program seeks to advance innovative research on economic mobility and access to opportunity in the United States. This program is particularly interested in research focused on diagnosing and addressing structural barriers to economic mobility in this country. This initiative is designed to support early- and mid-career tenure-track scholars, and to promote diversity by prioritizing applications from scholars who are underrepresented in the social sciences. This includes racial, ethnic, gender, disciplinary, institutional, and geographic diversity. Proposals are due December 3, 2019. Training and Educational Opportunities
UW: The Researcher Regulatory Fair will be held Tuesday October 29, 2019 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Union South’s Varsity Hall. This event gives faculty, staff, trainees, students and administrators the opportunity to meet with and ask questions of campus regulatory experts from offices such as the IRB, Export Control, Research and Sponsored Programs, Conflict of Interest , and a host of other research-related offices and areas. UW: The three UW Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) provide regular training and educational sessions for faculty, staff and students who conduct human subjects research.
