Professor Majid Sarmadi on ‘Hunter’s Pink’ and AATCC
On January 24, Design Studies professor Majid Sarmadi, Ph.D., testified before the Michigan House Department on Natural Resources regarding his research on increased visibility of “Hunter’s Pink.” Additionally, the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) recognized Professor Sarmadi for serving as the Student Chapter advisor for 32 years. This position involves mentoring students, recommending them for grants, encouraging them to publish in AATCC publications, and more. Congratulations Professor Sarmadi!
Erica Hess Chosen for Campus-wide TA Award
MFA student Erica Hess was recently awarded with a Campus-wide Teaching Assistant Award. Erica, a teaching assistant and graduate student in the Design Studies department, was one of four TAs who were chosen to receive the Early Excellence in Teaching Award. Nominated by professors Jennifer Angus, Mary Hark, and Mark Nelson, Erica has clearly made an impact on her students and the professors she assists. See all the award recipients here.
