Toddler self-control gets stronger when parents have support

What kind of parenting is associated with early self-control among toddlers living in poverty? The importance of learning support.

HDFS alumna Dr. Ye Rang Park (PhD 2020) and Dr. Robert Nix co-author this article published in the Developmental Psychology Journal. These study findings highlight the importance of parents’ learning support in understanding the early development of toddlers’ self-control in the context of poverty and reinforce the need to create and refine preventive interventions in this area.
