Barrios wins Creative Arts award

Congratulations to Adriana Barrios, Engagement Manager for Exhibitions and Programs in the Center for Design and Material Culture, recipient of the 2022 the Edna Wiechers Arts in Wisconsin Award. This award and honor (established in 2012) seeks to enrich cultural offerings and inspire future artists in Wisconsin communities underserved by the arts. The grant will help support Barrios solo exhibit, Between Land and Sea,  at the TRUEX gallery located at Madison Area Technical College:

Exhibition Dates: March 7-April 7 2022.
In person artist talk is scheduled for late March.
The works in this exhibit consist of multi layered prints on paper, glass enamel prints, live feed video projections and a large scale cast paper cinder block installation.

The award supports faculty or staff in the creation of new art works in areas both emerging and traditional and/or the presentation of new or existing works of art across the state. The Division of the Arts provides research support to faculty, staff, and students in the arts.
