SoHE’s Majid Sarmadi is one of twelve faculty members chosen to receive a 2018 Distinguished Teaching Award. This award recognizes the high quality teaching of some of the university’s most exceptional educators.
Design Studies professor Majid Sarmadi is the recipient of this year’s Van Hise Outreach Teaching Award. This award was created to recognize excellence in outreach teaching. Sarmadi demonstrates this through his commitment to sharing his expertise with diverse audiences outside the classroom. His Textile Science specialization work has driven economic development, consumer safety, environmental preservation, and sustainability. Sarmadi has shared this work with the public through various forums and learning opportunities in order to promote a community-wide impact.
The awards will be presented on April 11, 2018, at a 5 p.m. ceremony at the Fluno Center, 601 University Ave. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
