New research: 3D virtual reality stores’ impact on consumer decision-making

Drs. Jung-hye Shin and Kevin Ponto, both of Design Studies, have published a new paper in the Journal of Interactive Marketing on how “informativeness” and “playfulness” impact consumers’ experience and purchasing in virtual reality shopping.

New research: Inflammation and predictive biomarkers for antidepressant response

Dr. Charles Raison, the Mary Sue and Mike Shannon Chair for Healthy Minds, Children, and Families at SoHE and professor in Human Development and Family Studies, has a new paper out in Brain, Behavior, and Immunity. The research reports on results from a placebo-controlled trial examining C-reactive protein and response to lurasidone treatment in children and adolescents with bipolar I depression, contributing to a hot area of study in psychiatry: the intersection of inflammation and predictive biomarkers for antidepressant response.

Raison also learned this week that he is one of Web of Science’s most influential researchers of the last decade, with nearly 11,000 citations by other researchers and 137 publications.

O’Brien on last-minute holiday shopping & door-buster deals

WTMJ Radio interviewed Jerry O’Brien, executive director of the Kohl’s Center for Retailing, to discuss the impact of 2019’s shortened holiday shopping season and last-minute opportunities for consumers. He also commented for Politifact Wisconsin on the legality of door-buster deals.
