Eight faculty members receive promotions, named appointments

Several faculty members who recently received promotions and named appointments will return to campus this fall with added distinction.

Larissa Duncan and Kevin Ponto were promoted to professor, and Margaret Kerr, David J. Pate Jr. and Alvin Thomas were promoted with tenure to associate professor.

Pate, Carolee Dodge Francis, Gisella Kagy and Quentin Riser received named appointments, made possible through philanthropy. Dodge Francis now holds the Leola R. Culver Professorship in Nonprofits and Philanthropy; Kagy holds the Global Human Ecology & 4W Faculty Fellowship; Pate holds the Dean’s Fathers and Fathering Faculty Fellowship; and Riser holds the Dean’s Equitable Early Lifespan Faculty Fellowship.
